Wildlife Aid

Damn, I forgot my camera, thankyou Karen who sent these through…

Radio Jackie's new branding policy is considered a little aggressive by some critics.

Hi to some of the regular faces there, including the Pasquale Posse, regulars… and lots of new faces as well, Simon Cowell said that there was more people than last year, and I am glad, it costs £1000 a day to run a centre like that. £350, 000 a year!

So I am glad that they had lots of folks turn up, and if you were one of them, hi to you. We also sang happy birthday to my daughter, who is 16 tomorrow.  She was mortified, and probably will not speak to me until she is 18 or so.

Happy birthday my wonderful sweetheart!

LOL

Anyone else have a teenage daughter or son, and thinking “Where did THOSE years go?”

It’s a great event, so many people chip in and make the day great, and thanks to the Bar

B Que boys for the water fight, which I , ummm , started!

Water fight champ 2010, well we all need something to aim for.

It was fair, they said my shirt was pink.

It was red. Or puce if you are a pretentious fashion designer.

No self respecting man could put up with an insult like that!

By the way, here’s the wind up we pulled on Wildlife Aid, thanks to Steve for being a good sport!

I am thinking of making the wind ups we did on the breakfast show available, so if you fancy that, watch this space.

Back on the radio tomorrow morning, party on. Luv ya’all (apart from the Bar B Que boys)

Ah, fun show today, ended up talking about psychic stuff on the show today, and ended up with (as always happens when we talk about stuff like this), some great stories, and some not so good ones, some made-y up ones as Nicky says, and a couple of REALLY scary ones, far too scary for a family blog- however, we did do a really cool stunt with Ali from the sandwich shop next door, a man from New Malden, and a pack of cards.

Uncanny and as funny as heck when ali went all Harry Potter on us and asked it it was the 6 of spiders!

Priceless

Oh , there’s another scam going round , this time on the texts, it says that “According to our records, you can claim £2500 in non sold stock “or something, just call this number.

My guess is that it is some peak rate number for £20 a minute, that has a really long recorded message on it.

Dan Cottrell makes me laugh, he has a show on Blog talk Radio, where he busts scammers live on air, I want to get him on my show, meantime, here is a link.

You can even do scam baiting yourself, great fun, and a public service. Ha!

My colleague Alistair at Radio Jackie has a Vuvuzela horn app on his I-Phone.

I wonder if we could invent an app that could stick Vuvuzelas where the sun dosen’t shine. I bet it would be a winner.

Did you know, there are people making 5 figures a month making fun I-Phone apps. If you would like to hear my podcast all about internet marketing, where I interviewed a roomful of big time internet marketers, totally free to you here. A must listen if you want to make money online. And if you don’t want to make money online you are weird, and I don’t want to be near you :)

Baxter Basics

by admin

Anyone else remember the John Major quote, or if you are a reader of the alternative magazine Viz, the politician of the aforementioned name (caught doing something unspeakable with a petrol pump), but it’s not passed the watershed yet so ’nuff about that.

No, I am talking about the very basics of internet marketing, and I have been watching webinars recently- this one from Pat O’ Brian as a prequel to his Unseminar 8. One day I will attend one of those, they sound so cool, he says this will be the last one but I hope not. As someone that loves networking they sound so cool and laid back.

Anyway, just watched a seminar from Erica Douglass and I present a condensed version below, comments welcome please.

First, you need a couple of tools, google keyword tool is the first one, just google, google keyword tool and grab that one.

Then we begin the process of keyword research, I personally have a subscription to nichebot and keyword elite, but if you do not, no worries, then you can just type in the base keyword. Then see how many monthly searches it gets- to be worthwhile, then it needs to be at least 10000 a month.

Then you need to know what the people are thinking when they type the words in- a rather clever tool called commercial intent, meaning a probability estimate on the intention of people to buy something, rather than just looking for information.

Depending on what you discover here, it will depend on what kind of site you set up.

Then, to double check, look on Amazon to see what is selling there, and if it has a good price tag, then you know that there is money in that market. Check paid ads on google as well, they would not be advertising if

they were not making money. In this sense, others have done the research for you :)

Don’t forget to have fun in business as well, many people are deadly serious, but there are folks who, in the recession are making 5 figures writing i-phone apps, that are fun.

So, when it comes to niche research, think big, then narrow down, do what you do in your own unique way, even if you are not doing anything radically diferent from anyone in the market, then just doing it in a unique way can be the difference that makes the difference.

It can be a beneficial (if a little painful) exercise to buy compeditors products- a lot of them are not very good, and you can fine tune your product. Another great idea was to take 5 people- yes, your customers out to lunch, and let them do 90% of the talking, learn their problems and wants, that you can find solutions for or fulfill.  Visit forums where they hang out. Learn the lingo. As a radio presenter I have a whole vocabulary from my industry, I will teach you if you like!

You do not have to be an expert, to use our above example, you do not need to be a top DJ to enter the radio market.

You do need passion however. And traffic.

And more about that soon.

Gotta make a website today as well, I considered buying X Site Pro, but will hold off.

On the show with Nicky on Radio Jackie today, we dicscussed 7 traits of women and men……

Can you come up with 7. Funniest one wins a T-shirt (no matter where you are in the world)
